In June 2020, Baetyl released a new version 2.0, a huge upgrade.

In this upgrade, the edge-side back-end system was upgraded from docker to kubernetes, enabling baetyl to provide complex container applications in multi-machine distributed clusters.

At the same time, the baetyl-cloud system and the accompanying data consistency synchronization protocol were released, providing remote management of large-scale edge computing devices.

What are the current goals of the project? For example, are you working on major new features? Or are you concentrating on adoption or documentation?

Goals:

  1. Cloud Native infrastructure on Edge
  2. Large-scale management of unattended equipments
  3. Toolkits & services for creating applications

Key new features:

  1. Baetyl 2.0 with Kubernetes backend
  2. Baetyl-Cloud for remote management
How can LF Edge help you achieve your upcoming goals?Hope to provide more guidance on the community operation mechanism, so that we can attract more developers to discuss and use.
Do you think that your project meets the criteria for the next Stage?Baetyl has a stable development team and more than a year of route development planning, has released 2 large and 10 iterations, has a stable quarterly release cycle, and has more than 20 contributors.
