An abbreviated summary of the components needed in order to have your Project considered for hosting under the LF Edge Foundation.

To Submit Your Project For LF Edge TAC Consideration

  1. Read the Project Lifecycle Overview outline: Project Lifecycle Overview
  2. Submit a completed Project Contribution Proposal Template (Exhibit A) to projects@lfedge.org
  3. Be available to present to the TAC with respect to the project’s proposal and inclusion in LFE.
    1. Project teams should be prepared to present a detailed (20-30 minutes in length) overview on the project in addition to speaking to the information contained in the project contribution proposal.

  4. Have a technical charter that provides for inbound and outbound licensing of code under an OSI-approved license approved by the Governing Board of LFE for projects.

    2. Additional information we will need, which will help us to populate/provide the Technical Charter - Please include the below in your presentation to the TAC
      1. formal name of the open source project
      2. a short, 1-2 sentence mission statement
      3. list of current committers of the project in the project's code repository
      4. license used by the project
  5. (When applicable) Agree to transfer any relevant trademarks to an LF entity to hold for the project.
    1. In the case of projects with established trademarks where a trademark transfer is commercially difficult, we generally recommend the project use a new name upon incubation.
